The 21st Century Council Beijing Conference lowers the curtain, and serves as a bridge of mutual understanding between China and the world

CRI Online report: News from China Radio International and CNS, the Beijing Conference sponsored by the world-renowned think tank 21st Century Council was concluded on November 3, with a Beijing Statement issued, stating that the Council will continue to enhance the mutual understanding ties between China and the world.

 

According to former Mexican President and Chairman of the 21st Century Council Ernesto Zedillo, China should further its cooperation with other emerging markets and introduce its successful economic practices to these partners, thus giving an impetus to the global economy. The emerging economies should also make use of Chinas referable experience.

 

According to Wu Jianmin, a senior Chinese diplomat and CIIDS Executive Vice Chairman, China will work with countries around the world on the basis of common interests, conduct cooperation and extend common interests to establish a diversified community of interest.

 

The 21st Century Council is known as "the shadow G20." A total of 40 council members attended this conference, including 11 former dignitaries, joined by well-known scholars and leading entrepreneurs from around the world. Focused on the theme "Understanding China," they got engaged in closed-door discussions for two days on China's political, economic, diplomatic and defense issues.
