On July 24th, 2023, Vice Chairman and Secretary General Wang Boyong met with Mr. Mustafa Hyder Saye, Executive Director of Pakistan-China Institute(PCI)at CIIDS.

Vice Chairman and Secretary General extended a warm welcome to the visiting PCI Executive Director before briefing him on the outcomes of the recent Pakistani parliamentary delegation's visit to China headed by CPI Chairman and Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Defence Committee, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed. As a new type of think tank in China, CIIDS shoulders a three-fold mission of 1) conducting strategic research, 2) promoting international communication, and 3) facilitating the translation of scientific research results into productivity and boosting industrial upgrading; PCI is a distinguished think tank in Pakistan and shares the same mission. It's only natural that greater cooperation should be expected between CIIDS and CPI in the coming years, especially in terms of making joint efforts in organizing "Understanding China" events beyond China.

Mr. Mustafa Sayed said that PCI is just as keen on strengthening cooperation with CIIDS in conducting joint strategic research and advancing the cause of Understanding China. The two Institutes should arrange more delegation exchanges and establish a regular dialogue and coordination mechanism to share resources and enhance mutual trust. For instance, the two Institutes, by fully tapping into their collective resources, can organize activities in more countries outside China and Pakistan, to further promote the world's better understanding of China and Pakistan.

Vice Chairman and Secretary General Wang Boyong and Mr. Mustafa Sayed signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic Cooperation on behalf on CIIDS and PCI respectively, followed by a CIIDS Presentation of Understanding China Books to PCI.

CIIDS Vice Chairman Feng Wei and Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Information Department Ms. Shi Xiaojin attended the meeting.
