Chairman Zheng Bijian Gave an Interview with CGTN'S Closer to China

Chairman Zheng Bijian sat with Mr. Robert Lawrence Kuhn, creator and host of the CCTV/CGTN News show Closer to China and a seasoned expert on China, at CIIDS on July 17, 2018. The interview begins with Chairman Zheng sharing his thoughts of and reflection on the past forty decades since China embarked upon Reform and Opening-up, and moves on to a Q&A covering, among others, the relationship between China's political and economic reforms, the goals of China's overall reform and its ever-deepening Reform and Opening-up, and the contribution of China's wisdom and its experience in the  Reform and Opening-up to the building of a community of shared future for all mankind.  

This interview is shot as part of Closer to China's special edition to mark the fortieth anniversary of China's launch of Reform and Opening-up in 1978, and present in an all-round manner the experience that China has since gained. The first episode of this special edition is scheduled to go on the air on Sept. 23.
